Portion Control
Trying out portion control, it’s been difficult because I love food, especially carbos and I’m just not used to being 70% full.
Moscatomom.com has some good tips here which I am trying to incorporate into other tips I have read off the web:
1. Use small plates - there is no need to use a plate bigger than your hand (ONE HAND and not two! Haha!)
2. Hold your eating utensils with the unfamiliar hand - slows down eating! (Kindda works for me, I have to focus hard on not spilling any of the food)
3. Eat smaller frequent meals - this requires planning, which I am still trying, trying. I have to plan beforehand how long I will be out during the day because it would determine how much snacks I need to bring and how to bring it. I get bored with eating the same things all over and I refuse to buy those processed snacks, so still experimenting.
4. Take away whatever that is unfinished if eating out - cause food wastage is bad, and it’s difficult to control how much you are served outside, so why not recycle it instead of trying to force yourself to finish everything on the plate.
